BRING HOME THE GOLD LADS;
The John Lockes club will have three representatives on the Kilkenny Intermediate team which will do battle with Clare in the All-Ireland final in Thurles on Saturday next at 7pm. Ger Shelly , Simon Burke and Paul Morrissey will don the black and amber against formidable opposition from the Banner men led by former senior star Niall Gilligan. Ger and Simon played a significant part in defeating Wexford in the Leinster final and both will be hoping to put their mark on this game. For both lads it is a massive night as neither were lucky enough to play at Minor or U-21 so there is a wonderful oppertunity for both to get their name in lights at Thurles. Paul is the reserve goalkeeper to Richie O'Neill, but a facial injury to Richie could put Paul between the posts come Saturday night. Paul has donned the black and amber on many occassion for both hurling and football county teams, but to play in an Al-Ireland final on Saturday with fellow club mates would be a masive thrill for the very experienced net minder. All in the Lockes club and parish wish the lads all the best against Clare and lets hope to have three All-Ireland medals back in Callan on Saturday night. If you can go and support the Kilkenny Intermediate team and especially the John Lockes lads at Thurles which is only a short distance over the Ballingarry hills
