U-21 TEAM INTO SEMI-FINAL
The John Lockes U-21 team had an excellent win over Ballyhale Shamrocks in the Southern Quarter Final at Dunnamaggan on Saturday last. The Lockes from the outset showed their class and strength as they drove onto a 6-16 to 1.13 victory. The young Shamrocks team were just unable to stem the tied and physicality of the Callan lads. Josh Hains who has been making his mark with the St.Kierans College team of late was a constant thorn in the Shamrocks defense as was big James Power and JJ Corrigan with all three lads bagging 1-3 apiece. As always Shane 'Sheff' Bergin gave 100% and into the bargain helped himself to 8 points. The McDowell brothers Jack and Bill were outstanding in defense as was Jason Corcoran who was his usual confident assured self. Over all it was an excellent performance but the big challenge will come next week when the play Mullinavat in the Semi-final.
