NEW YEARS DAY JOHN LOCKES 5K WALK
The John Lockes 5k walk was a huge success on New Years Day with over 100 people taking part in the event. Because of the poor weather on Saint Stephens Day the event which will become an annual occasion had to be cancelled, but the weather on New Years day was glorious and dry and it was a pleasure to shake off the cobwebs after the night before. The club are thankful to all the families who turned out and look forward to seeing you next year. After the walk the participants enjoyed refreshments in the hall. There were families from Wexford, Tipperary, Waterford and even Glasgow so next year lets get even more out from Callan and Kilkenny. Later a raffle for several family tickets to Kilkenny on Ice and also to the Guinness Hop Store. Well done to Paul Morrissey, Declan Roche and Robert Jackman for organizing what was a wonderful morning. Later those who wished made our way to John Locke Park to view the impressive new club rooms which are now near completion. Yes a wonderful day and look forward to a lot more
