BACK IN TRAINING;
JOHN LOCKES; The John Lockes got back to training on St. Patricks morning under new manager Cathal Fitzgerald along with his selectors for the season Sean Hogan and Derek Holden. Twenty lads took to the field along with injuries Michael Roche and Sean Tierney watching from the side lines. Senior lads like John O’Neill and JP Corcoran and the not as senior Paddy Kennedy led the way in training and they are three lads who are an example to all young guys, they are passionate about their hurling and about the Lockes jersey and will be the driving force yet again this year. Also back are lads like Shane ‘Shef’ Bergin, Eoghan Fahey and Bill McCormack is back in the Lockes jersey and the club also welcomes new man Jim Power. A number of players were away for the weekend and others are still involved in soccer activities. The first competitive game of the season is next Sunday at Ipm in Mullinavat in the Special Junior ‘B’ league. Its not an ideal day or time as it clashes with the Kilkenny/Clare game in Ennis but the times are set so the game will have to be played. The junior’s first competitive game is on Easter weekend when the Lockes take on Tullaroan. Even though it is Tullaroans second string team they are always a tough nut to crack, but the Lockes will be hoping to get off to a winning start.
