Johnny Wall a wonderful club man

One of the John Lockes greatest club men sadly passed away on Wednesday 24th April. Johnny Wall was a Lockes man through and through. He starred as a hurler back in the 1950's and was part of the famous Lockes team who won their only senior county title in 1957. Once he retired from the hurling field he devoted most of his free time to building the John Lockes to what it is today. He was very much involved in the fundraising when John Locke Park was first developed and he and his family became an integral part of the Park. His fundraising skills for the club will never be matched and the work as a mentor and as club President have left such a positive legacy on the club.Johnny would have just loved the way the new John Lockes park was developing and it is so sad that he has not lived to see the new Park in its full glory. Johnny was a wonderful family man and all were with him when he passed from this life. To his beloved Nell and his family the John Lockes club convey their deepest sympathies, he will be greatly missed by his family and most certainly by his hurling family in the John Lockes Club.
