All-Ireland Colleges title goes to St. Kierans

The Leinster Colleges A Finalists St. Kierans and Kilkenny C.B.S. both won their All-Ireland semi finals and threw up the unique situation for the Lockes Club in that two of its under age members were on opposite sides in the All-Ireland Final. Josh Haines was part of the St. Kierans panel while Cathal Mc Grath was full back on the C.B.S team. This was the first time in the history of the competition that the two Kilkenny Schools met in the final with St. Kierans reversing the result of their Leinster Final clash and bringing back the title. For Cathal Mc Grath it was heartbreak again as he had to settle for a runners up medal while congratulations to Josh Haines who receives the highest honour in colleges hurling. Well done to both lads on their efforts and hopefully they will have a fruitful year at club level too in 2014.
