August Weekend Juvenile Hurling Tournament
Sunday next sees the annual juvenile hurling tournament take place in John Locke Park and the Fair Green Callan. Six pitches will be prepared to cater for the sixteen teams at u-12 and u-9 age groups. The parade of all teams will take place from Colaiste Eamon Ris at 1pm with teams in full kit and club banners where the action will commence culminating in finals to be played at 4.30pm. The Callan Credit Union have been the sponsors of this tournament for many years and it is a great occasion for all the youngsters involved, many over the years who went on to All-Ireland success with Kilkenny at all levels and who always remember the parade in Callan on the August weekend.
