All Ireland Minor Glory for two Lockes players
All Ireland Minor Champions
Huge congratulations goes to two John Lockes lads who returned home to Callan with All Ireland minor medals following their impressive victory over Limerick. Cathal McGrath had an excellent game at corner back in a Kilkenny defence which refused to concede a goal even under immense pressure at times. Cathal emerged from a ruck around the goal in the dying minutes with the ball and made a relieving clearance which sealed the deal for the young cats team. Bill McDowell had to be content with a place on the bench but he and his colleagues on the extended minor panel all contributed in no small way to this victory as acknowledged by their manager Pat Hoban from Mullinavat. Cathal 's achievement mirrors that of his older brother Owen who secured a minor medal in 2010 alongside Jason Corcoran against Clare. The John Lockes Club congratulates both Cathal and Bill and their families and we are all very proud of your achievement. Well Done.
