Annual General Meeting
The A.G.M.of the John Lockes club took place in the Friary hall Callan on Friday night 21st January. Chairman John Walker paid tribute to the Junior team and their mentors who captured both county and Leinster crowns and expressed the hope of all in the club that we would go on now and contest the All-Ireland final in Croke Park by negotiating the challenge of Iniskeen (Monaghan) in the semi-final on Sunday 30th January. The u-21 team were congratulated on winning the Southern title and wished the best of luck in their forthcoming county final against Barrow Rangers.
Secretary Declan Roche gave a detailed account of the years activities and expressed the hope that all members of the club would pull together in the coming year to ensure the progress of the John Lockes club both on and off the field. The secretary also informed the meeting of the plans to develop John Locke park with new clubrooms and sports hall and the hope that work would commence later this year. Treasurer Sean Hogan oulined the financial report and reiterated the importance of the members in supporting all fundraising ventures as the costs of the day to day running of a club continue to rise. Juvenile chairman Jim Lynch congratulated all those who were involved in training underage teams and gave special mention to the three clubmen who won All-Ireland minor medals in 2010. He said that Owen, Jason and Shane were representative of the work being done at underage level in the club , words which were echoed by County Board Treasurer and Lockes man Barry Hickey.
Bosco Bryan asked all members to become involved in the club Lotto which he said had the potential to become the major fundraiser for the club and he said that the committee will be asking people to sell tickets on a weekly basis in the near future.

The club will hold their annual Juvenile meeting in the Friary Hall on next Friday 28th January at 8pm and anybody who is interested in giving a hand with any age group in the coming year is asked to come along on the night. All are welcome.
