All -Ireland Final Heartbreak

The dream of winning the All-Ireland Junior Hurling crown was twarted by a very good Meelin side in Croke Park on Sunday last. The Lockes lads tried as hard as they knew how but had no luck in front of goal with balls hitting the post and a wides tally which on another day would have ended up as scores. The Croke Park experience was certainly a huge occassion for the whole town with former residents travelling from as far away as New York to be there on such an historic day. The history books will show that Meelin won the game on a scoreline of 0-12 to 1-5 but we are very proud of our players and we have some wonderful memories of our journey over the winter months. The disappointment of losing an All-Ireland Final is never easy to bear but it will fade, and with the experience gained over the campaign the team can regroup and make an impression at Intermediate level in 2011. Well done to all concerned , the club is proud of you and we thank you for bringing our club and Parish to Croke Park.
