Loads of Fun for all the family;
Sunday June 19th will be a day no person will want to miss, Don't go to the beach, Don't go on holiday till the next day, Don't dare of thinking of a Sunday drive because if you do you will surely miss the biggest event in Callan this year. The John Lockes will hold a massive Field Day at John Locke Park that day, with loads for all the family. There will be over 30 different attractions on the day and all the money raised will go towards the re-development of John Locke Park which will benifit all the young people who use the present facilities. Hopefully by this time 2012, the whole place will be transformed and we will be looking forward to another massive Field Day. The day will start with a Gaelic Football tournament for U-12 girls and boys. They will be all drawn from the surrounding parish schools. When we say it will be massive we mean massive, you will be amazed by all that will be available with loads for the youngsters to do. For those of you who love your dogs there will be a dog show with some nice prizes for the winners, The usual others will be wheel of fortune, train ride, skittles,Burger stands, shop, teas, coffee and sandwiches,penalty kicks and loads more. So DON'T miss Sunday 19th June with the Gelic tournament kicking off at 12pm and the Fun Day beginning at 2pm. Admission for Children is FREE and Adults cost the small sum of €3.00.
