Going for Leinster Glory

Three John Locke’s players will line out in the Black & Amber of Kilkenny tonight (Wednesday) at Nowlan Park in the Leinster Intermediate Final against arch rivals Wexford. Simon Burke, Ger Shelly and Paul Morrissey will don the famous Stripes and will fly the saffron and blue of the Lockes with pride. The lads have been training hard with the county team under Mullinavat man Pat Hoban and the feedback from the camp is that they are all training very well. If the win tonight they will go straight into the All-Ireland final, a place all three have experienced earlier this year with the John Lockes. Paul has experienced playing with Kilkenny before but for Simon and Ger this will be a first time. It’s a wonderful honour for the lads, their families and of course their club so we wish them well and above all enjoy the occasion.
MINORS; Jack McDowell and Owen McGrath were unfortunately on the loosing team on Sunday in then Leinster final against Dublin, but the two lads acquitted themselves very well and held their own all through a difficult game. They now have a chance to re-group and move into the All-Ireland Quarter Final with their opponents being announced next week. Well done lads.
